Wings of Fire - Part 1

Part 1:

It had been six long months since the event. Ever since Zapdos disappeared over the ocean and had been left entirely out of the loop by the military but it wasn’t long before they requested I come back in for a new threat.

“Two days ago a private drilling company was given permission to begin work on Mt Ember, a dormant volcano on the Isle of Ember, north of One Island in the Sevii Archipelago. They’re scans indicated they might have stumbled upon one of the largest Volcanic Ore Deposits on record. However, they dug into a chamber, soon after there was a terrible explosion. Satellites then picked up a large spot of thermal radiation moving away from the island.” he said.

“We sent a rescue team to the island in case there were any survivors. I was sent this image early this morning” he said.

I was handed a photograph showing an enormous hole in the side of the mountain. The edges were still hot and lava spewed from the base but this looked nothing like any volcano I had ever seen. The edges almost looked like melted glass.

“We managed to pick up a single survivor. He claimed that they saw something in the chamber, something very large. They tried to get a better look at it and turned on the floodlights but as soon as they did they heard a booming screech. The ground shook and the connection to the drone cut off. Soon after plumes of fire began to spill from the hole. He ran as fast as he could to get to safety when he saw the ground begin to glow and melt away. He tripped and fell down a small cliff edge, which was probably what saved him as he heard a huge explosion and fire and dust shot over the ridge. He climbed back up once the dust had settled to see a giant bird, larger than anything he had ever seen before. It had orange feathers and flames. Soot pouring from its wings as it took flight. He called it Moltres”...
