The Sound of Thunder - Part 3:
The tension hung in the air as live video footage from the plant was put up on the big screen. The storm was massive, churning with an almost organic nature, pulsating with flashes of lighting and an ominous green aura.
It wasn’t long before the wind and rain consumed the screen, whipping debris past the camera.
“Zeus is in place” called Dr.Okada.
“Can you get it online?” called Professor Clements.
“Yes, but it won’t begin the energy transfer for another ten minutes” he replied.
“How long until the plant goes dark?” pressed Acton.
“It’ll go down in approximately 6 minutes sir” called out one of the engineers.
We all knew the damage Zapdos could do in that time, but we had to pray that our plan would work and whatever was left of the plant was salvageable. The screens flickered as the winds dissipated, opening up into the eye of the storm.
“How are the cameras still working? I thought the magnetic emissions shorted all electrical devices?” inquired Clements.
“They are at an electrical power plant, all cameras are fitted with lead casings to protect against any interference” replied Okada.
Suddenly, giant wings tore through the clouds as the giant bird descended over the power station.
The dull orange glow from the lights of the plant lit the tail feathers of the monster before a great flash of lighting lit up the area and gave us our first look at the titan.
Its feathers were yellow and black, standing to attention like brandished spears bristling with static energy. Its orange feet were tipped with razor sharp talons and it sported a long sharp beak. The crest feathers on its head were raised as if trying to intimidate an enemy, ready to attack!
